O agrarismo brasileiro em questão: os intelectuais e a formação do capitalismo agrário brasileiro
Abstract
O artigo trata das interpretações da questãoagrária no Brasil e da formação do capitalismo agrário brasileiro,estabelecendo relações entre os projetos intelectuais e as mudançasocorridas no período que ficou consagrado como “modernização conservadora”da agricultura. Identificamos a formação de três distintaslinguagens de interpretação da questão agrária e procuramos mostrarquais suas origens intelectuais, seus argumentos substantivos e suasrelações com os projetos políticos. A análise se concentra na produçãointelectual dos anos 1960 e 1970, mapeando as definições da questãoagrária, as imagens que se constituíram dos agricultores e do desenvolvimentoda agricultura, bem como, desdobramentos políticos.Sugerimos que a constituição de uma interpretação hegemônica emtorno da funcionalidade da estrutura agrária para o desenvolvimentodo capitalismo foi elemento decisivo da conformação de políticas estataisque conduziram um processo de modernização seletiva.Downloads
