Call for Proposals: Selection of Thematic Section Proposals 2027/2028

We are pleased to announce the launch of a call for Thematic Section proposals for 2027 and 2028.

Proposals are welcome from professors and researchers holding a doctoral degree who work in the Social Sciences – Sociology, Anthropology, and Political Science – whether nationally or internationally. Each Thematic Section proposal may have up to three organizers affiliated with at least two different institutions.

The proposal must include:

  • Title of the Thematic Section;

  • Summary of the objectives of the Thematic Section, along with a justification of its timeliness, relevance, and the originality of the theme;

  • Links to the CVs of the organizers (if Brazilian, Lattes CV).

  • Indication of up to 6 (six) authors to be invited to participate in the Thematic Section, with their academic qualifications, institutional affiliations, and publications on the theme. It is important to stress that the invitation does not guarantee publication, as all articles in the Thematic Sections will be subject to double-blind peer review.

Up to 3 (three) proposals will be selected by the Editorial Committee of the journal Estudos Sociedade e Agricultura, to be published in the second semester of 2027 and the first and second semesters of 2028.

Proposals must be sent to [email protected], with the subject line "Proposta para Edital de Seção Temática 2027/2028". The final deadline for submission is November 20, 2026.
